Check out our new UGC Insights infographic that keys into trends driving the social proof movement — based on survey data from over 40,000 shoppers across their store, web, and mobile experiences.

The data behind the ResellerRatings UGC research reveals evolving consumer behavior trends guiding retail marketing initiatives — as consumer trust shifts from brand influencers and traditional media outlets (like Consumer Reports), to the authenticity of first-person customer reviews and photos that build social proof. In fact, only 17% of shoppers trust retailer recommended products over reviews from customers, according to the study.

How are these consumer shifts shaping the future of User-Generated Content marketing?

Some key findings from the research include:rr_fxi_thumb.jpg

  • 87% of customers are highly likely to click on stores or products with customer-generated star ratings
  • Most shoppers place high importance on reviews submitted by customers who are like them
  • For local businesses, location-based online reviews drive discovery and in-store traffic

The infographic also reveals competitive opportunities for retailers to act on now to win customers with social proof in 2018.
